April 1st Resort Opens for the Season
Grey’s Point Camp opens for the 2010 season. Join us for a season filled with exciting new activities and some of your classic favorites.
April 2 4 Easter Weekend
The Flashlight Easter egg hunt, kid’s crafts, an Easter coloring contest, other games and hay rides are just some of the fun things for the family to enjoy. Hopefully we don’t forget to boil the eggs before we dye them.
April 16 18 Welcome Back Weekend
It’s that time again. Our welcome back Hot Dog Roast on Saturday night kicks off the new season. It’s a way of thanking you for being part of our 2010 family.
April 23 25 Spring Fling Weekend
This is the perfect time to clear those winter cobwebs! Come down for a weekend filled with food, fun, and entertainment. Saturday you can shop a variety of camping vendors and visit the craft show. Musical entertainment, surprise special attractions, and a potluck dinner. There’s sure to be something exciting for all ages.
April 30 May 2 Cinco de Mayo Weekend
Come to Grey’s Point for one big FIESTA! Enjoy an array of different Mexican dishes with live entertainment from a Mariachi Band. Guaranteed to be a fiesta that you will never forget!
May 7 9 Mother’s Day Weekend
Happy Mother’s Day! Let this weekend be all about moms. Our kid’s crafts workshop is the place to make something special for the occasion and there will be activities for the whole family to enjoy with mom.
May 21 23 Teens/Tweens Weekend
Look out resort, the tweens and teens are ruling the weekend. Bring your favorite wii games and ipod music for a teen and tweens only party. Surprise, surprise, all of our pools are open this weekend.
May 28 30 Memorial Day Weekend
This is the official start to summer. To celebrate the occasion we will have a red, white, and blue golf cart and bicycle parade along with many other patriotic games and crafts planned.
June 4 6 Pirate Weekend
Ahoy Mateys! Come down to Grey’s Point for a weekend full of pirates, pirate ships and TREASURE! There will be a treasure hunt on Saturday along with a potluck dinner in the pavilion. So make sure you bring your best pirate food. Also on Saturday, Matthew Dodd will stop by to tell Stories and Songs of Old Sailing Days. This is one weekend you don’t want to miss! ARGG!
June 11 13 I Love Lucy Weekend
“Lucy you got some ‘splainin to do!” That’s right folks, this weekend is dedicated to our most beloved character from the 1950’s. We will have plenty of fun games and crafts and a Lucille Ball impersonating contest on Saturday.
June 18 20 Father’s Day Weekend
Dads, now it is your turn. Time for your family to show how much they care about you, in fun ways, of course. Our blindfolded golf cart obstacle course, fishing tournament, and all the sporting events to make Dad happy. Then finish the evening off with Poppa’s Potluck Supper.
June 25 27 Chocolate Weekend
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate! And even more chocolate! Things might get a little messy, but hey, who cares, it’s chocolate. So bring your tastes buds and join the fun!
July 2 4 Independence Day Weekend
Our annual Golf Cart Parade is a colorful exciting event, with decorated carts, bicycles, pets, and people, all dressed for the occasion. The most creative designs will be awarded prizes. The watermelon feast following the parade will quench your thirst and cool you down.
July 9 11 Wet and Wild Weekend
Water, Water, Everywhere and quite a bit of mud. Be prepared to get soaked on our Grey’s Point WET N’ WILD Train Ride. Also we will have more wet and crazy activities planned for this weekend. Who knew mud could be so much fun!? Slip and slide as you test your agility on our Aqua Obstacle Course, but make sure you don’t forget your bathing suit and lots of towels!
July 16 18 Kid’s Only Carnival Weekend
This weekend is dedicated to our local Hartfield Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department will offer a great Pig Pickin’ BBQ meal on Saturday, along with great carnival fun. Your kids will love events like the jump castle, dunk tank, face painting, and much more. It’s a great weekend of fun and food for the entire family!
July 23 25 Christmas in July
Dashing through the snow to Grey’s Point we will go. Bring your favorite decorations for our site decorating contest. Christmas crafts and caroling are just a couple of holiday activities scheduled for this weekend.
July 30 August 1 Casino Weekend
Do you feel lucky? Use your Grey’s Point money to place bets and enter to win prizes. You won’t strike it rich, but you will have a terrific time!
August 6 - 8 Crab Feast Weekend
This is the weekend for crab lovers. Saturday night it’s ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT crabs. They are served with all of the fixin’s plus your favorite beverages. We also have a large landlubber’s spread that’ll be to your liking.
August 13 15 Mardi Gras Weekend
Welcome to Big Easy! New Orleans has sent its influence to Topping, Virginia. The costumes, the music, the parades, the Cajun potluck supper on Saturday night, - the beads don’t miss the fun!
August 20 22 Game Show Weekend
Not sure you are ready for the real Jeopardy or Who Wants to be a Millionaire, practice on us. This weekend will have game show activities and team challenges. Start practicing now because the questions will be tough.
August 27 29 Luau Weekend
This is a sight to see. Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, and other assorted tropical outfits are the attire for our Saturday evening luau. You won’t want to miss the Queen of the Island Contest!
September 3 5 Labor Day Weekend
We have an action packed weekend with games, crafts, and activities for the entire family. Labor Day is a great chance to take a dip in the pools, run through the spray features, or take a ride down the water slides, so don’t miss out on the fun!
September 10 12 Grandparents Weekend
Moms, Dads, Kids, and Teens have all had their weekends, now it is time to spoil the grandparents. There will be lots of fun crafts and activities for you and your grandparents.
Sept. 1719 Chili & Clam Chowder Cook-Off Wkd.
It’s a tailgate weekend, with a family flag football game, and a punt, pass, and a kick contest. Then bring your favorite recipe and warm up those taste buds for our chili and clam chowder cook-off.
September 24 26 Wings and Wheels Weekend
Grey’s Point Camp is the best place to stay for Wings and Wheels Weekend. Hummel Field is about a mile away from the resort off Route 3 in Topping. Airplane and automobile fans, this is your weekend. Antique and classic planes and cars plus plenty of food and entertainment are for you to enjoy at the airfield.
October 8 10 Fall Festival Weekend
Autumn is here, and to welcome it in, our Fall Festival is a weekend full of late season activities. Bluegrass entertainment will be provided throughout the day. We’ll also have a big arts and crafts show, hayrides and train rides, and a potluck supper on Saturday night with a bonfire to cap off the evening.
October 15-17 Halloween I
This is when our fall festivities turn to Halloween. Join us for great family fun, good for the youngest of halloweeners. Pumpkin painting, Halloween crafts, and a variety of good old Charlie Brown fun is what you can expect this weekend.
October 22 24 Halloween II
Join us for the family fun Halloween weekend. Our Halloween carnival is the highlight of Saturday night. Bring your favorite decorations for our site decorating contest. Costume contests for all ages, a cake walk, pumpkin carving contests, TRICK-OR-TREATING, and much more will fill up your activity schedule.
October 29 31 Halloween III
The ghosts and goblins, witches and things that go bump in the night will be around this weekend. Grey’s Point Camp’s pavilion will be a scary place to venture into. If you are brave enough to enter our HAUNTED HOUSE, you’ll find some very chilling surprises.
November 5 7 53rd Annual Urbanna Oyster Festival
In the first few years, the event was a relatively small gathering of local folks, highlighted by a parade of mainly just antique cars. Now, over 90,000 people venture into our historic port town to partake in the food, fun, and festivities.
November 15 Resort Closes for the Season
As we get ready to put the resort to rest until April 1, 2011, we hope you have enjoyed your visit with us and look forward to being your camping host next year. Join us for a season filled with exciting new activities and some of your classic favorites.
